Pretty Little Liars (PPL) is all about loving that one person society tells you not to love. Whether it is someone who is five-years older than you, someone of the same sex, or even someone from a different class than you, it’s okay to just love them.

My favorite relationship tests the waters of social class and love. It is between Hanna and Lucas. Right now it hasn’t transformed into a romance or anything, but I love their friendship and I love the idea of their future love for one another. They became better friends in episode 8, “Do Talk about Me When I’m Gone”. Lucas helps Hanna sell her expensive jewelry and handbags online. I won’t spoil anything, but it is interesting to find out whether or not the social class of Lucas will draw Hanna away from him. During this episode they become better friends and Hanna starts to see Lucas in a different way. She sees him as more than the nerdy guy with the camera. He becomes a person to her and he slowly becomes her friend.

Sometimes people we wouldn’t put in our personal circle are put into our lives for a reason. A reason we are not sure of. If we give them a chance they might be the love of our lives or they might be our new best friend. It is our personal choice to give them a chance when society won’t.

Secrets Secrets, Are they Ever Good?

I keep secrets from my friends all the time. Does that mean it is okay? Probably not, but I still do it. I do it because I don’t like to feel vulnerable or I don’t want anyone to think differently of me. When I watch Pretty Little Liars they always keep secrets from each other. Most times they lie or they don’t share things because they need to protect each other or themselves. For instance, when Aria is dating Mr. Fitz she can’t tell her friends because she will be in trouble and he will be in trouble. But in all honesty, I think she doesn’t tell her friends because she doesn’t trust them.

Aria, Spencer, Hanna, Emily, and the rest of the town are still trying to figure out who killed their best friend, Alison “A” The group is reunited after spending some time apart. But during that time they have questioned their friendships and investigated their own lives. Someone killed A and it could very well be someone in their group.

My Life as Liz

Dear Bryson, can you please be a little less charming next week. It’s really hard to dislike you on My Life as Liz when you are outside of Liz’s house bearing gifts. And we just started liking coffee shop boy, Louis.

Glee

Why do we go crazy wanting Glee’s Rachel and Finn together when they’re not together, but when they are together they are a snooze. Just kiss already, but don’t wear each other’s names around your neck! Kurt and Blaine on the other hand finally smooched. Now my “kiss already” shouts at the TV will have to go towards a new “hide our feelings for each other” couple.

The Bachelor

The Bachelor’s Brad finally picked a girl! Shocker… All I know is he picked the southern bell. I never actually watched the show because….(insert your excuse here).

Greek

Greek is officially over! We can’t save it. It’s as over as the Kappa Tau house. (Sad face)

The Vampire Diaries

There are 21 days and counting until the witty Salvitore brothers return to our TV’s with a new episode of Vampire Diaries. My roommates and I have a Vampire Diaries tradition. We make Brinner (breakfast for dinner) to celebrate TVD. I am looking for new recipes. Help please!

The Soundtrack of My Life

The soundtrack of my life is loaded with songs that have meaning, songs that make me dance, and songs that remind me of something beautiful from my past. The other day I added another song to my soundtrack. This time it was a song that had meaning. It was a song that isolated me from the rest of the world. I felt like this one song knew everything I was going through. It did what I was too afraid to do. It said what I was too afraid to say. I found the song “Out of Reach” sung by Mathew Perryman Jones on the new Pretty Little Liars Soundtrack. Coincidentally, most of my favorite songs come from TV shows. When I’m viewing a TV show, I am feeling the same emotions the actors are feeling. The music impacts me as much as the actors do.

The Pretty Little Liars Soundtrack is loaded with songs that could easily be added to your personal soundtrack. They may motivate you, make you dance, or like “Out of Reach” they may say everything you were too afraid to say that day.

Pretty Little Liars Soundtrack

One of my favorite things about watching TV is finding new music to listen to. The music on the hit ABC Family show, Pretty Little Liars is impeccable. As an avid music lover I’m always looking for new tunes and when I heard they were releasing a Pretty Little Liars Soundtrack I new it would be my new favorite soundtrack. The indie rock tracks have been on repeat ever since I got it. My new favorite artist is indie singer/songwriter Andrew Belle. Imagine my excitement when I heard his song “All Those Pretty Lights” on the Pretty Little Liars Soundtrack. Belle’s song plays in the scene where Emily lays on her bed listening to her new mixed CD. The song adds an element of excitement to the scene. “All Those Pretty Lights” is about knowing that something good is going to happen, but it takes time, and you have to be patient.

I knew I would be an instant fan of Pretty Little Liars because of the song that plays in one of the opening scenes. Aria and her family are unpacking from a year of studying abroad. The music playing in the background is Colbie Caillat’s song “I Won’t”, which is another track from the Pretty Little Liars Soundtrack. The song sets the mood for the entire episode. Aria is coming back to something she once knew and something she is not sure if she wants back. This song is about starting fresh and not going back to who you were. It’s about not giving up and embracing the change that lies ahead.

V is Back!

Recap of the Season 2 premiere of V.

I loved the finale of the ABC series, V. But the season 2 premiere was even better. If you haven’t watched it yet you can watch it here: http://abc.go.com/shows/v/index I don’t want to spoil anything for you. Or if you’re like me you can watch the episode over and over again because it was that good

The mother and son storyline between Erica and Tyler is by far my favorite relationship. They don’t have the typical mother and son relationship because of the Visitors. Tyler like the Visitors and wants them to be a part of his life. Where his mother, Erica, is an FBI agent, is cautious and doesn’t trust them at all. In the season 2 premiere we find out that Tyler is actually on the V ship, and let’s just say Erica is determined to get him off the ship.

I also love the storyline between Ryan and Valarie. The couple just found out that they are going to have a baby together. But there is one small detail Valarie’s significant other, Ryan, forgot to tell her…he is a Visitor. Ryan is also shocked because, “they said we could never procreate with humans.”

Visitors are Welcome!

The Visitors almost bring an entire new world with them. They arrive promoting peace and unity and they also bring a curious eye to the townspeople. They divide communities and are topics of group discussions. I have even had a group discussion with my family and friends. While watching the ABC series, V, I got my family intrigued. So I showed them http://abc.go.com/shows/v. We started discussing what we had just seen. I asked them how they would feel if Visitors came to our community, what they would do, how they would react. My friend said “I have a choice; I would be friendly because I wouldn’t know if the Visitors were good or bad. And I would want to find out, just for curiosity.” Someone else said, “I would be frightened because the Visitors scare me.”

My dad said he would be, “Accepting because Visitors are supposed to be more intelligent and more loving than us. “ At that moment I looked around I smiled because my entire family was crowded around watching extra videos at http://abc.go.com/shows/v, we were laughing, and talking. And for that moment we were united and it turns out the Visitors brought my family together.

My family was so intrigued by the show I bought them The Complete First Season of V on DVD http://bit.ly/e6ABTG for Christmas. Which is perfect timing because they now have enough time to catch up on the first season before the Seasons 2 of V premieres on Tues, January 4 9/8c on ABC.

The Best Sarcastic Lines from Vampire Diaries

“Hello Brother!” Damon’s sarcasm on Vampire Diaries is hilarious! His quirky lines always make me come back for more. In episode 17 “Let the Right One in” Stefan needs to work up his energy and Damon offers him some, “… two liters of soccer mom in the fridge!” Those are the kinds of Damon-esqe lines I love.

One of my favorite lines comes from episode 11, “Bloodlines” when Damon rescues Elena and he takes her to Georgia. On the way back she asks him why he brought her and he says, “You were all damsel and distress like and I knew it would piss of Stefan. And you’re not the worst company in the world Elena!” She responds with, “I saved your life…and don’t you forget it!”

The hateful banter between Elena and Damon is so snappy and sarcastic. The best sarcasm comes from episode 7 “Haunted”. Elena is angry and goes to the Salvatore brothers’ house. Damon answers the door and she says, “How can you be so arrogant and glib after everything you’ve done?” Damon responds with “And how can you be so brave and stupid to call a vampire arrogant and glib?”

Gossip Girl’s Hottest Styles

Fashion on Gossip Girl is even more popular than love triangles. The characters are always wearing the hottest trends and the most popular high end fashions. Every character has their own special fashion sense whether it’s Jenny’s rocker style or Vanessa’s Bohemian style, they always look great. Out of all the characters on Gossip Girl my favorite fashion moments come from the one and only Chuck Bass. And only Chuck could pull off the “I’m Chuck Bass look”. From robes, to bow-ties, to suits he is always well dressed. I love all of his suits he wears and one of my favorites is the one in this clip http://bit.ly/cctEu4, but my favorite Chuck Bass suit is in episode 12 “The Lady Vanished”. In this scene, his suit is so well put together, from his handkerchief to his shoes.

Gossip Girl is loaded with opera’s, balls, weddings, and parties. And when there is a special event it means everyone will be wearing the hottest fashions. My favorite event during the third season was Dorota’s wedding. I love the dress Blair wears to her wedding in episode 18, “The Unblairable Lightness of Being”. Blair always looks so vintage and amazing. All the couples dress so nicely and Chuck and Blair make the best dressed couple hands down.

Gossip Girl is the go to show to see the latest trends and hottest fashions. Frightening Scenes on Vampire Diaries

I never thought I would admit this, but Vampire Diaries gave me fright last night. I have been watching the complete first season of Vampire Diaries for a few days now and last night I witnessed some creep-tastic, blood sucking moments. I was watching episode 6 “Lost Girls” when Stefan reveals the truth to Elena and as the episode is focusing on the trust of their relationship it is also focusing on Damon, who is locked in the basement. I don’t want to give too much away, but let me just say, by the end of the episode someone joins Stefan, Damon and the rest of the undead.

I’ll be honest though, every time one of the vampires feed off a human I get freaked out. But it’s a good freaked out. I want to keep watching, it’s just that when one of the brothers bite, I never expect it.

Vampire Diaries has it all: hot vampires, drama, relationships, action, and frightening moments. I especially enjoy having the complete first season because of the bonus content. There is a special feature called “The Vampire Diaries: Vampires 101 – The Rules of the Vampire” where they tell us all the rules for the vampires.
